Find Swisher Traffic Tickets

A Swisher County traffic ticket question begins with one line on the citation itself: the name of the issuing court. City cases stay with the Tulia, Happy, or Kress Municipal Court, while county and state-agency tickets may route to the Justice of the Peace. Start there. That office holds the case and sends the current notice. Swisher County traffic court records do not sit in one county-wide search, so the citation, court contact, official state search, and local docket each cover a piece of it. Check your court date and response options before acting, and treat any fine amount, deadline, or portal link you find elsewhere as unverified until the court confirms it.

Swisher County Traffic Court Records

Jurisdiction follows whichever court issued the ticket, not whichever courthouse sits closest. For traffic and Class C matters outside a city route, one office handles the case. The countywide Swisher County Justice of the Peace takes them. Tulia, Kress, and Happy each run their own Municipal Court. Their city ordinance and Class C records stay separate. Texas Highway Patrol citations issued within the last 24 months can be traced through the official DPS tool. That tool points you to the right court contact.

The Swisher County services page sends ticket payments to the JP or the City of Tulia. Which one depends on the case. The two dockets never merge there. Kress and Happy stay separate too. Before any docket search, read the ticket closely and note the court name, issuing agency, citation number, appearance details, and phone line. A county clerk index covering felonies and misdemeanors does not prove it holds every JP or municipal citation.

Swisher JP and City Tickets

The Swisher Justice of the Peace sits at 310 W Broadway in Tulia. The county page posts its phone, fax, mail, and certified-payment details. The JP offers no live docket online. City tickets do not belong there by default. Tulia Municipal Court sits at 127 SW 2nd Street. Kress Municipal Court is at 308 Skipworth Avenue. The OCA directory gives Happy a mailing route of P.O. Box 216.

The official JP page shows the contact details for Swisher County traffic ticket matters handled at the county level.

Payment options include phone, the Certified Payments site with bureau code 5313675, or a mailed cashier's check, money order, or credit-card payment. Check the case number and amount with the JP first.

Looking Up a Swisher Traffic Ticket

Keep the citation close. It names the issuing agency and the court assigned to your case, which beats guessing. Texas Highway Patrol tickets inside the stated 24-month window go through the DPS search. It asks for your driver license or ID number and date of birth in month/day/year form. Your first name and last name complete the request. What that search returns is court contact information. Questions about a plea, payment, fines, or a setting still go to the court itself.

  1. Read the court, agency, citation number, and appearance text.
  2. Use the DPS tool only for an eligible Highway Patrol citation.
  3. Call the JP or named municipal court when no local portal exists.
  4. Visit the correct counter with the citation and identity information if needed.
  5. Confirm the current date, case status, amount, and authorized response directly.

Tickets from other agencies are best traced through the agency or court that issued them. If DPS returns nothing, the citation may simply fall outside its agency or date scope. A blank result does not void the ticket.

Tulia Traffic Ticket Access

Tulia Municipal Court handles charges under state law and city ordinances alike. Its official page lists public hours Monday through Wednesday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., at 127 SW 2nd Street, Tulia, TX 79088. The phone number is 806-995-3547. The page carries a link labeled for online citation payment. Verify its destination before you rely on it.

Call ahead if you plan to travel outside those days or use that payment link. A city citation stays with Tulia Municipal Court. The county clerk's office is also in Tulia. Sharing a county seat does not move a municipal case into the county or district index. Ask staff to confirm a few things. These include the citation number, current setting, balance, plea status, and the accepted response route.

Find Your Traffic Court Date

Start with the appearance information on the ticket. It is not a license to pick any date that suits you. Swisher County posts no unified traffic calendar. Tulia, Kress, Happy, and the JP each keep separate schedules. A reset, a written court notice, or a clerk's instruction can override the original appearance text.

Citation NumberUse the identifier exactly as printed. No single county format such as TX-##### was verified.
Issuing CourtThe JP or municipal court that keeps the traffic case.
Date and TimeThe current appearance or hearing setting, confirmed with the court.
PlaceThe address or courtroom stated by the responsible court.
StatusPending, set, disposed, or another status as the court confirms.

If the printed date clashes with a newer signed notice, call the court named on both papers. A missing row on a website is never proof of dismissal.

Swisher Warrant Lists Can Lag

Tulia's official warrant page says plainly that its list is not updated daily. It also warns that a name on the list does not establish guilt. A listed name can linger after bail or fines were paid or a warrant was recalled. Treat the list as a reason to call. It is not a current balance or a final case record.

For live Tulia status, call 806-995-3547. Have your citation number and identity details ready. Staff can then pull the right matter. Ask whether the warrant is still active. Ask whether a court date has been set, and which authorized step comes next. Names on a warrant list are for resolving your own case. They are not for publishing or private use.

Pay or Contest a Ticket

Paying a fine, a plea, a trial request, deferred disposition, or a driving safety course: each can carry different legal effects. The citation and the court's current instructions control. There is no single Swisher-wide deadline, fine table, or eligibility rule. Kress warns that failing to appear can bring added fines, a warrant, or the loss of alternatives. No dollar amount should be guessed at.

Paying or resolvingContesting
Confirm the plea and case effect with the court.Ask how and when to enter a not-guilty plea.
Use only the payment route assigned by the issuing court.Obtain the trial or hearing setting from that court.
Keep the receipt and verify the docket status.Keep the filed plea and later setting notice.

Missed date or payment: Contact the issuing court promptly. A missed appearance can trigger added action, a warrant, or loss of an option where law permits.

Only that court can state the current status and the lawful next step.

Never assume paying is the only option or that a requested course was automatically approved. Get confirmation from the court.

Kress Traffic Court Boundaries

Kress Municipal Court takes a narrow slice of cases. Its docket covers Class C misdemeanors, parking, and city ordinances. Animal and code matters appear there too, along with school-related offenses where applicable and failure-to-appear or failure-to-pay cases. Felonies, Class A and B misdemeanors, family matters, and ordinary civil suits belong elsewhere. The court's own procedures page uses "docket" to mean the court schedule. Kelly Dunbar sits as presiding judge on the city's current page. The OCA directory snapshot lists things differently. For current contact details, trust the local operational page. Note the vintage of any directory you consult. A case outside Kress's Class C and ordinance scope stays elsewhere. It stays there no matter where the traffic stop happened.

Traffic Court Record vs Driving Record

Two offices keep two separate files. The justice of the peace or municipal court holds the court docket behind a traffic ticket. The docket covers filed pleas, settings, orders, and payments. Disposition appears there where applicable. The Texas Department of Public Safety keeps the state driving record. Searching one file never replaces a request to the other.

For a court date or case action, the traffic court docket is the source. Keep your questions separate, and the right office can answer each one.

Kress Docket Means Schedule

On Kress's procedures page, "docket" means the court schedule, and the page also lays out courtroom conduct. Phones go off. Photography and audio recording are barred. No food or drink, and proper attire is expected. None of those rules says anything about the merits or outcome of a citation. Treat them as attendance instructions only. Kress posts no live docket, payment portal, fine table, or appearance deadline online, so call 806-684-2525 and have your citation in hand for current instructions. Before you appear, confirm the day, time, place, plea status, and any approved way to pay or contest. Remember that a schedule entry cannot show the full filed case record or prove the result of a hearing.

Copies and Traffic Record Fees

Traffic-case copies come from whichever court holds the citation. For records in that office, the Swisher combined clerk publishes its copy prices: $1 per paper page, $1 per page plus $5 for a certified copy, digital copies at $1 per page through ten pages and $0.10 per page after ten, and $10 for three-way authentication. Those figures apply to that office. Nothing guarantees every JP or municipal court charges the same.

Paper$1 per pageCombined clerk records
Certified$1 per page plus $5Combined clerk certification
Digital$1 per page through 10, then $0.10Digital records held there

Before ordering, ask the JP or municipal clerk for its current fee. The fine on a citation, a payment fee, and a copy fee are three different charges.

Chapter 45A Course Requests

Texas Code of Criminal Procedure Chapter 45A governs justice and municipal traffic procedure. The driving-safety and motorcycle-course provisions are part of it. Eligibility turns on the current law, the offense, the driver's status, the deadline, and court action, and the exceptions are real. A traffic citation alone does not earn a course request. The current Chapter 45A source sets out the full text. It backs this Swisher County traffic court record page.

Ask the issuing court whether a course request is available and what must be filed to get one. Skip the generic course vendors and the old deadlines. The Swisher County court dates resource can help you confirm the setting channel. Still, only the court itself can approve any option.
